DAVID G. MARGOLIS
David joined Syndicated in 1971. Following a 3-year tour as an officer in the USAF, Mr. Margolis spent the next 8 years in the retail discount health and beauty aid business. He worked in various capacities, starting as a Warehouseman and progressing through Warehouse Manager, Merchandise Manager, and ultimately as Vice President, Director of Store Operations for one of the largest health and beauty aid chains in the United States. Joining Syndicated in 1971 as a sales representative, he became a District Manager and ultimately Vice President and National Sales Manager.Mr. Margolis purchased the agency in 1992 from founder Eric K. Orne, and has functioned as its President and CEO since that time.
Mr. Margolis has many varied interests in addition to Syndicated. He has been a pilot and flight instructor for 50 years, and owns a Piper Saratoga based at Norwood (MA) Memorial Airport. He does a number of Dream Flight and Angel Flights during the year He has also been very involved with the Aero Club of New England and has served as both Vice-President, President, and remains on the Board of Directors. He is also a Quiet Bird man and has been Beam Man and Key Man. In addition, he has served on the Board of Directors of the Better Business Bureau of MA., R.I., VT. and ME. for the last 7 years. Mr. Margolis is a member of the Hopkinton Sportsmen’s Assoc., was Treasurer for 10 years, and continues to serve on its Board of Directors.
V.P. AND EASTERN REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF SALES (RET.)Bill Blumsack started as a sales representative for Syndicated in 1987. Prior to joining Syndicated, Bill has been in sales and marketing in various capacities and executive positions for the past 26 years.As an Air force Veteran, -Bill is also on the executive board for a number of organizations dedicated to helping veterans. He also serves on the executive board of his local Medical Reserve Corps,(MRC).During his semi-retirement Bill continues to travel and train New sales reps for Syndicated.
Susan’s integral role at Syndicated has grown since 2003 and has contributed to the company’s success, by participating in all aspects of the business. As General Manager, Susan works in close collaboration with the President of Syndicated, David Margolis.
As chief editor, Kristina is responsible for ensuring that all columns and closing paragraphs are turned in on time by our various writers, meeting all deadlines, and maintaining our library of columns and backup inventory. While other editors assist by editing copy in 38 categories, Kristina is the final arbiter of what will be published, and when, and ensures that all our copy is current, timely, grammatically correct, and properly spelled. After living in Newton, Ma., for many years, Kristina has relocated to the west coast to be with her daughter and family.
Jodi joined Syndicated in 2013, bringing with her a degree from Bentley University and almost 30 years of office and financial management experience. She is responsible for the company’s financial operations as well as managing the firm’s benefits and insurance. She also assists with other areas of business activities. In addition to her position at Syndicated, Jodi serves as the Treasurer of Temple Etz Chaim in Franklin, MA. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors camping, hiking and biking. She can also be found playing card and board games, but, most importantly, spending time with her family and friends.
Gail O’Connell joined Syndicated in 1987. Living in Milford, MA., she was referred to Syndicated by our previous artist who had gone on to further his career in other areas. From the outset, Gail took over the position and greatly expanded its scope. From the making of simple column “headers”, in measurements provided by the sales staff, in “cold type”, repros, halftone negatives, engravings, etc., to today’s computer oriented artwork, Gail expanded the scope of her position by taking it upon herself to be in touch with, sales staff, newspapers, agencies, and, often, the client, to be sure we were producing exactly what the client and the newspaper or web requirements called for. She was able to do all of this while getting married, raising children, and relocating first to Marshfield, MA. then to Cape Cod. She remains a very talented, capable, loyal member of our staff.
Barbara Cowen, has over 20 years in website design and development, graphic design, and marketing. She joined Syndicated in 2009 to augment clients’ newspaper advertising options with an online/digital presence. Her experience also includes different segments of technology, including telecommunications and software education.
Her priority is growing clients’ business through the use of a well developed and maintained website and an advertising and marketing campaign. Syndicated works closely with clients to get their individual message out to your target audience to increase visibility.
Barbara is a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston.
